bodies plays with textures from saxophone, synthesizers, and electronics, creating an ambiguous sonic landscape that floats across rhythms from different styles, uniquely integrating diverse influences from today’s international jazz scene. Inspired by artists such as Otis Sandsjö, Small Medium Large, ØKSE, ADHD, Björk, and Alabaster DePlume, the band draws from Brussels electronic music, free improvisation, and a variety of alternative pop.
Founded in early 2022 by saxophonist and composer alejandra borzyk, bodies quickly gained attention in Belgium’s jazz, electronic, and experimental music scenes. After releasing 2 EP’s (Bodies, 2023 – Fluidos, 2024), they were featured on Sdban Records’ Jazz Cats Vol. 3 compilation and opened for Nubya Garcia at Ancienne Belgique.
The album quiero amor (Igloo Records, 01/2026) is the portrait of an intimate and collective transformation through music. It invites us to embrace vulnerability, transform rage into joy, and welcome complex emotions with compassion. It is a call for empathy and joyful resistance, a chaotic utopia affirming that together, with love, we can build a softer and more just world.
