Behind the scenes with Emine Bostanci: Dareyn Quartet

It is here where Music Meeting visited musician and composer Emine Bostancı for a glimpse behind the scenes at her Dareyn Quartet rehearsal. Emine explains how she was immediately enchanted by the de kemenche when she first heard it. Bostancı was convinced that there is nothing that comes closer to the sound of the divine than the sound of this instrument.

In collaboration with variable musicians the Dareyn Quartet, of which Emine together with cellist Maya Fridman forms the foundation of the group, constantly searches for the power of change within the realm of tradition. Dareyn Quartet allow themselves to get completely carried away by this force, which is expressed in their dynamic, lyrical improvisations.
